Debezium 3.5.0.Final — New major release with CDC improvements
release
HIGH
Debezium 3.5.0.Final was released March 31, 2026, upgrading the previous tracked version 3.4.3.Final. Built against Kafka Connect 4.1.1. Key improvements include pluggable relational schema management (reduces connector memory footprint), better geometry/geography coordinate handling across PostgreSQL/MongoDB/MySQL connectors, and planning for improved CDC pipeline observability. This is a minor version bump with production-ready status.

ODS Impact
Debezium is a core component of the ODS Zero-ETL Data Platform, performing CDC from PostgreSQL to Redpanda for downstream ClickHouse ingestion. The pluggable schema management feature can reduce memory footprint on the Debezium connector — directly relevant to srv-agents resource constraints. The PostgreSQL geometry improvements may benefit future geospatial features. Upgrade path from 3.4.3 to 3.5.0 should be tested in staging.
