Redpanda v26.1.2 was released April 3, 2026 (very recent). Critical bug fix: slow replication could cause audit log produce RPCs to pile up unbounded, causing memory exhaustion and potential OOM crashes. Also fixes reactor stall in producer state cache under high producer volume. New: greedy topic-aware balancer, cloud storage client improvements, rpk security role assign/unassign with Group: principal support. Removes legacy rpk security group commands. ODS was already on v26.1.2 per last-versions.json — no action needed, but confirm deployment if last-versions was set before this release.

ODS Impact
Redpanda is ODS's core event bus for Zero-ETL and all inter-service CloudEvents messaging. The memory exhaustion fix is production-critical — any ODS environment using audit logging with slow consumers (e.g., ClickHouse ingestion lag) was at risk of OOM crashes. last-versions.json shows 26.1.2 — verify the Coolify deployment is actually running this version, not a stale container.
